Preparing data 

 

Preparing the application after the attachment of the required databases. This step is essential in order to use the application. 

The prepare process is designed to indicate which users/authorizations/profiles/... should be included/excluded for future audits.

 

Note: When you only wish to use the CSI AA for managing queries, variants, T-codes, ... you can do so without preparing the application. As of the moment where the 4 first databases are attached (see topic Attaching databases) you can do so. Should you desire to use more functionality afterwards, you will need to prepare your data. 

 

• The preparing-process starts by clicking on the 'Prepare Data' button (at the start-up screen).
• You then will have the option to prepare your data using the brief method (Normal mode, which allows you to indicate a number of general parameters which determine the total number of users/authorizations/profiles/... which will be included/excluded for future audits).
• A second approach to preparing your data provides you with a more elaborate set of options (Expert mode which allows you to indicate individual users/roles which will be included/excluded for future audits).

 

Whenever you previously have prepared data and wish to perform a new prepare, you first will need to delete the previous settings and data which are a result of your previous prepare-action. Follow the steps below in order to make the application ready for a new prepare.

 

• Click the 'Delete redundant data'-button.

Note: The Result Container database will not be deleted. This feature is implemented in this way to make sure that the RC information you already produced remains stored in order to provide you with the possibility to perform cross-system audits when joining several RC databases into one 'final-RC'.

• The application will then ask you for confirmation whether you really want to delete all your old data, click continue.

 

• A popup will then confirm that all your old data are removed.

 

• In order to finish the process you MUST 'repair and compact' (to be found at the 'File'-menu. If you forget this step the application will generate strange error messages later on and will not function properly. You can find the repair and compact options in the file-menu at the top left of the application.
  

 

• You can prepare the application with your new settings now (using Normal or Expert mode). 

 

This functionality offers you the ability to restore the settings used during your previous data prepare.

 

Tip: A lit 'Prepare Data'-button means that currently no data have been prepared for analysis in the CSI AA.
Accordingly, an unlit 'Audit'-button at the initial screen implies the same.

 

Tip: When the Result Container has been attached or created, the 'Result Container'-button (on the initial screen) will be lit. The 'SOD'-button will only be lit when the Result Container is lit as well.

 

Note: Once you have prepared your data, no settings can be modified except the Dummy Logical System.
